Completion, Crossing, and New Beginning
Something is completing and something is beginning this week. Venus, who has been moving through Cancer since mid-May, turning the relational field toward nurturing and genuine care, is preparing to leave. Before she goes, she has significant work to do.
Key Cycles This Week:
Tuesday, June 9: Venus conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer. Mercury in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries.
Two movements pulling in different directions. Venus meeting Jupiter in Cancer amplifies what nourishes — warmth, generosity, the sense of genuine belonging. This is one of the more beautiful transits of recent weeks. Let it land. Let what is good be felt fully rather than held at arm's length by the urgency of everything else.
At the same time, Mercury squares Saturn. The feeling mind meets hard reality. Difficult conversations may be necessary. The gap between what is longed for and what is currently possible becomes harder to ignore. Hold both. Expansion and honest reckoning are not contradictions in a genuine threshold time.
Friday, June 12: Venus in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries.
Before Venus leaves Cancer, she meets the Wounded Healer. This square touches old relational wounds — places where the longing for genuine belonging has met disappointment or the pain of being too much or not enough within systems never designed to hold the fullness of who you are. For many, this wound is not only personal. It is ancestral and collective.
Venus square Chiron does not offer easy resolution. But the Shamanic tradition has always known that when a wound is brought into honest awareness and witnessed rather than managed, something in it begins to metabolize. What surfaces this week around old relational pain may be less a sign that something is wrong and more an invitation to witness what has long needed witnessing.
Saturday, June 13: Venus enters Leo, remaining until July 9.
The register shifts. Where Cancer sought quiet belonging and nourishment, Leo seeks expression, visibility, and the joy of being fully seen in one's vitality. This is not vanity. It is the soul's genuine need to be witnessed in its radiance, not only its tenderness. In a collective moment asking so much gravity and endurance, Venus in Leo is not a distraction. It is replenishment.
Sunday, June 14: New Moon at 24 degrees of Gemini.
The lunation cycle renews in the sign of the Communicator. In a field still charged by Uranus in Gemini, what wants to begin here is not a return to familiar patterns of thought but genuinely new perception. In a time when the information field is saturated and often deliberately disorienting, this lunation asks: what new way of knowing is trying to emerge in you, from your own direct experience rather than what you have been told?
Plant that.
Larger Frame
This week holds the full arc of Venus in Cancer — her expansion, her reckoning with old wounds, and her departure into Leo. What have you learned since mid-May about what genuinely nourishes you? Where has old relational pain asked to be witnessed? Venus carries what she has learned in Cancer into Leo. The nourishment becomes fuel for expression. The tenderness becomes the ground of genuine visibility.
And the New Moon in Gemini opens a new chapter in how we think and communicate, with ourselves, with each other, with the larger world trying to find its new form.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I being invited to let genuine goodness or expansion actually land rather than holding it at arm's length?
- What old relational wound is asking to be witnessed rather than managed right now?
- As Venus moves into Leo and the New Moon plants new seeds, what wants to be expressed that has not yet had enough room?
Let what is good be felt. Let what is wounded be witnessed. Let what is new have the quiet attention of this lunation.
The web of life is always reorganizing toward something, even when we cannot yet see its full shape.

I'm your host and guide, Shelagh Bélanger. A brief reminder, these episodes are being released during a five-week period when I'm away from technology and not tracking current events in real time. The archetypal patterns I offer here are reliable. What is expressing them, what is expressing them in the world right now is yours to hold alongside what I offer. Thank you Now into our week. A phrase from the poem of this week, "The secret of my own dignity" Something is completing and something is beginning. Venus, who has been moving through Cancer since mid-May, turning the relational field toward nurturing, belonging, and genuine care, is preparing to leave that sign. By Saturday, she enters Leo, shifting the entire quality of how we relate, what we desire, and where we seek recognition But before she goes, she has some significant work to do. This week opens with Venus at her most expansive in Cancer, moves through a reckoning with old wounds, and closes with a new moon in Gemini planting seeds in the mental field. It is a week of completion, crossing, and new beginning, held within the larger Mercury in Cancer invitation to feel our way through rather than think our way through Here are this week's key cycles. On Tuesday, June 10th, Venus is conjunct Jupiter in Cancer, and Mercury in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. Two significant movements on the same day pulling in very different directions. Venus meeting Jupiter in Cancer is a genuine moment of expansion in the feeling field. These two together in Cancer amplify what nourishes, warmth, generosity, the sense of being genuinely held and belonging somewhere real. There may be a quality of overflow here, of the heart finding more room than it expected This is one of the more genuinely beautiful cycles of recent weeks. Let it land. Let what is good be felt fully rather than held at arm's length by the urgency of everything else that is moving Also on this day, Mercury and Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. The feeling mind meets hard reality. What the heart knows runs up against what circumstances currently demand or restrict. There may be some difficult conversations here, truths that are tender but necessary. The gap between what is longed for and what is currently possible becoming undeniable I invite you to hold both. The expansion of Venus-Jupiter and the honest reckoning of Mercury-Saturn, they're not contradictions. They are the complexity of living in a genuine threshold time On Friday, June 12th, Venus in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries. Before Venus leaves Cancer, she meets with the Wounded Healer and the Shamanic One This square touches old relational wounds, places where the longing for genuine care, for belonging, for being truly seen and held might has me- might have met disappointment, rejection, or the particular pain of being too much or not enough within systems that were never designed to hold the fullness of who you are For many, and particularly of those for whom needs, identities, or ways of loving have been marginalized or pathologized, this wound can run deep. It is not only personal, it is ancestral and collective Venus square Chiron does not offer easy resolution, but it does offer something the shamanic traditions have always known, that when a wound is brought into honest awareness, when it is witnessed rather than managed, something in it begins to metabolize The Indigenous people talk about the medicine that comes from the womb You might notice what surfaces this week around old relational pain, not as a sign that something is wrong, but as an invitation to witness what has long needed witnessing On Saturday, June 13th, Venus enters Leo, and the register shifts. Venus in Leo moves differently than Venus in Cancer. Where Cancer sought belonging and quiet nourishment, Leo seeks expression, visibility, and the particular joy of being fully seen in one's vitality and creative self. This is not vanity. It is the soul's genuine need to be witnessed in its radiance, not just its tenderness. Venus will be in Leo until July 9th. Over these weeks, notice where you are being invited to step more fully into your own light, to let yourself be seen not only in your vulnerability, but in your strength, your creativity, your genuine aliveness In a collective moment that asks so much gravity and endurance, this is not a distraction. It is replenishment On Sunday, June 14th, the new moon is at 24 degrees of Gemini The lunation cycle of the sun and moon coming together renews in the sign of the communicator A new moon in Gemini is an invitation to plant something in the mental and communicative field. A new way of thinking, a new conversation, a new curiosity that has been hovering at the edges of awareness, waiting for enough space to take root This new moon arrives in a field still charged by Uranus in Gemini What wants to begin here is not a return to familiar patterns of thought. It is genuinely new perception, a different way of making meaning from what is being experienced In a time when the information field is saturated and often deliberately disorienting, Liz Lunation asks, "What new ways of knowing is trying to emerge in you? Not what you have inherited or been told, but what your own direct experience is beginning to teach you." Plant that under the new moon So lensing back. This week holds the full arc of Venus in Cancer, her expansion, her reckoning with old wounds, and her departure into Leo. It is a kind of completion of the relational work Cancer has been asking of us since Venus arrived in mid-May What have you learned about what genuinely nourishes you? Where has old relational pain surfaced and asked to be witnessed? Where has the longing for genuine belonging met both its beauty and its limitation? Venus now carries what she has learned in Cancer into Leo. The nourishment becomes fuel for expression. The tenderness becomes the ground of genuine visibility And the new moon in Gemini opens a new chapter in how we think and communicate with ourselves, with each other, with the larger world trying to find its new form And here are some reflection questions to support your journey this week. First, where this week am I being invited to let genuine goodness, warmth, or expansion actually land rather than holding it at arm's length? Second question: What old relational wound is asking to be witnessed rather than managed right now? What might become possible if I let it be seen? As Venus moves into Leo and the new moon plants new seeds in the mental field, what wants to be expressed or initiated that has not yet had enough room... Excuse me This is a week of genuine movement, from expansion to reckoning, to crossing to new beginning, all within a few days Let yourself be carried by it rather than braced against it. Let what is good be felt. Let what is wounded be witnessed. Let what is new have the quiet attention of this lunation The web of life is always reorganizing toward, toward something, even when, especially when, we cannot yet see its full shape. Trust that. We can't see the new crescent moon for about three days after the exact new moon. Trust that This week's podcast poem honors, honors the dignity and the embracing of all the parts of you, imperfection and all. It's called Wisdom of the Deer by Kent Osborne. "A deer standing before me shamelessly, telling me his presence through his very manner of being. There, what I did was all I could do. What I did was truly all I could do." The deer didn't move for what seemed like the longest time. Kept standing there, unflinching, regal, as if the fallen leaves adorning his great hall were lush earthen carpet, and I had been granted a brief audience with nobility whose lineage was pure and undefined Then I understood the wisdom of the deer, the secret of my own dignity All I have ever been is all I will ever need I must look back and respectfully awaken the hero of my personal journey. The whole story, imperfections and all, is where the treasure resides. No need to be in the future out there in the next big thing. I already have one thing, a communion with myself Wisdom of the Deer by Kent Osborne I hope the blessings of this week of Venus with Jupiter of the new moon and Venus entering Leo Helps awaken the hero, heroine of your own personal journey And may you remember that you have communion with yourself always Thank you Travel well in these times You have been listening to the Astrology Alchemy podcast with your host, Sheila Bélanger.
