#346-“You Stop Trying to Make Sense of Things”-- Week of January 5, 2026
This week concentrates powerful Capricorn energy, activating themes of commitment, responsibility, desire, and relational truth—all tested through tension with Jupiter in Cancer and Chiron in Aries. The question underneath it all: What are you truly willing to tend, protect, and build?
Tuesday, Jan 6 — Venus conjunct Sun in Capricorn
Archetypal Dialogue: The Lover meets the Sovereign
A renewal of values and relational orientation. What you love seeks alignment with what you are responsible for. Beauty, worth, and devotion ask to be taken seriously.
Reflection Question: Where am I clarifying what truly matters—and what I’m willing to commit to?
Wednesday, Jan 7 — Venus conjunct Mars in Capricorn
Archetypal Dialogue: Desire joins Discipline
Attraction meets will. Passion becomes purposeful when guided by integrity and long-term vision. This is a moment to act in alignment with your values.
Reflection Question: How can my desire move with maturity rather than impulse?
Friday, Jan 9 — Sun conjunct Venus in Capricorn and Venus in Capricorn opposes Jupiter in Cancer
Archetypal Dialogue: Devotion faces Expansion
A peak moment for relationship and value themes. The tension asks you to balance duty with emotional nourishment—ambition with care.
Reflection Question: Where might growth require both boundaries and tenderness?
Saturday, Jan 10 — Sun & Mars in Capricorn oppose Jupiter in Cancer
Archetypal Dialogue: Authority meets Protection
Drive and responsibility meet the need for safety and belonging. Overreach or defensiveness may surface if inner needs are ignored.
Reflection Question: Am I acting from grounded authority—or compensating for unmet emotional needs?
Sunday, Jan 11 — Venus in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries
Archetypal Dialogue: The Lover meets the Wounded Self
Old relational wounds or identity sensitivities may be activated. This is an invitation to mature self-worth through compassion rather than self-judgment.

More resources are available at the website on the edges of change.com. Hello, let's just test, test, test, test, test this one. Great. Hello and welcome to episode number 346 of the Astrology Alchemy Podcast. I'm your guide and host, Sheila Lange, and this is for the week of January 5th, 2026. Bright blessings of the new year. New calendar year for all of us, and may we have a new year that invites us to be deeply connected to our own humanity, compassion and strength for all beings. Here's a phrase from this week's podcast poem, you stop trying to make sense of things. This week gathers an unusual concentration of planetary energy in Capricorn. Pressing us into questions of commitment, responsibility, desire, and integrity. As these forces remediate repeatedly meet Jupiter in Cancer and Chiron in Aries, the deeper inquiry becomes less about achievement and more about what kind of life love. And leadership you are actually willing to tend on Tuesday, January 6th, Venus is conjunct the sun in Capricorn. You can think of this as the archetypal dialogue of the lover meets the sovereign. This cycle is a quiet but potent reset of values. What you love, desire. And prioritize steps into the light of conscious identity and responsibility. There is an invitation here to take your longing seriously, not romantically, but maturely as something worthy of structure, care, and follow through a reflection question for this cycle. Where am I clarifying what truly matters? And what am I willing to commit to over time? And a note for any of my new listeners, welcome aboard. All of these reflection questions are in the show notes for the podcast on Wednesday, January 7th. Venus is conjunct Mars in Capricorn. Here's the archetypal dialogue. Desire joins discipline. Attraction will and motivation converge. Passion is no longer just a spark. It wants direction, embodiment and ethical grounding. This alignment favors purposeful action, especially when desire is expressed with patience and integrity rather than with urgency. A reflection question, how can my desire move forward with steadiness instead of force? That's a really important question for our whole country in the United States and on Friday, January 9th, we have two important cycles. The sun is conjunct Venus in Capricorn, and Venus is opposing Jupiter in cancer. It's a kind of archetypal dialogue of devotion faces expansion. These cycles are relational and emotional peak points. The call is to balance responsibility with care, ambition, and emotional truth. Growth may ask you to stretch beyond familiar patterns, but not at the cost of self abandonment or overgiving track that. Here's a reflection question, where is my life? Asking for both stronger boundaries and deeper tenderness. On Saturday, January 10th, both the Sun and Mars in Capricorn oppose Jupiter in cancer. The archetypal dialogue, authority meets protection drive ambition and responsibility push up against the need for safety, belonging, and emotional reassurance. This can be a powerful moment for leadership if action is guided by inner security rather than defensiveness or overreach. Again, do you hear the echoes of these cycles applicable both to personal and collective challenges? A reflection question, am I acting from grounded authority? Or reacting from an unmet need for care on Sunday, January 11th, Venus in Capricorn Squares. Chiron in Aries. Archetype of lot dialogue is the lover meets the wounded healer. Self Kyron is also a shamanic character and is about shape-shifting wounds into deeper healing in medicine. During this cycle, tender identity and relational wounds may surface, especially around worth, autonomy, and the need to prove oneself. This square asks for maturity of heart to choose self-respect, over self-criticism and compassion over armor. A reflection question for this cycle. What would honoring my worth look like if I didn't need to prove anything at all? And here's a kind of, uh, integration recap of the week. Taken together this week. Asks us to grow up in our loves. Our leadership and our desires without hardening, it reminds us that true authority is rooted in care and true devotion requires both structure and heart. As Capricorn planets meet a planet in cancer, and Chiron stirs old identity wounds, we are invited to choose commitments that are sustainable relational. And aligned with who are we are becoming, not who we were taught to be. We have the opportunity to free our mind and our patterns to really embody love and compassion and mystery and make ourselves a vessel for something much greater and mysterious than our own enculturated limited patterns. The podcast poem that comes to me for this week is really so much about that invitation. It's called Alteration by Rosemary Ola Trauma alteration, though you've tried to fit into a thousand small boxes. Perhaps comes the day when you're opened by grief or by love, and your thoughts unstitch from what you knew and your mind begins to rhyme with. Sky becomes spacious enough. Whole flocks of Bluebird can fly right through and for a time. You stop trying to make sense of things, you simply yield to being a home for the ecstasy of wings. So, dear ones in this week, may the cycles support you chemically. To yield to being a home for the ecstasy of wings for yourself and for all humans and all beings on the planet. What changes can we make to liberate all beings from suffering an entrenched poisonous patterns that are way too small for our souls? Thank you for your presence. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Deeply appreciate you. And I wanna remind you that I have a special group starting called the Winter Threshold Circle.
